Decorative & Functional

Decorative Plaster

Venetian plasters are a family of lime and marble-dust finishes worked by trowel in multiple passes. Each product in this family has a distinct grain size, sheen level, and trowel character. The result - from mirror-polished Grassello to satin-coarse Marmorino - is determined by the material chosen and the number of passes applied. All are interior finishes. All are lime-based. All reward skilled application with a surface depth that paint cannot replicate.

Grassello

The finest and most polished of the Venetian plaster family. Pure slaked lime putty worked under high pressure to achieve a true mirror-like surface. No aggregate - maximum reflectivity and depth. The benchmark for high-polish interior walls in formal and luxury residential spaces.

Marmorino Fine

Fine-grain Venetian plaster with pronounced trowel movement and a depth of surface that reads differently at different angles. Glossy without being mirror-like. The most versatile of the Marmorino family — suited to residential and commercial interiors where character matters as much as finish level.

Marmorino Medium

Medium-grain Venetian plaster with a more restrained trowel movement than Marmorino Fine. The visible aggregate gives the surface a natural, mineral quality with moderate sheen -warmer and more textured than the finer grades. A strong choice for residential interiors with a natural or transitional aesthetic.

Marmorino Coarse

Large-grain Venetian plaster with a uniform satin finish and the faint light-and-shadow (chiaroscuro) effect produced by the visible aggregate size. The most textured and organic of the Marmorino family. Well-suited to spaces where a stone-like presence is the intent - coastal, rustic, or contemporary natural interiors.

Functional Plaster

Functional plasters are specified where the wall must do more than look well - where water resistance, exterior durability, or structural performance is the primary requirement. These finishes achieve their function through material science: cement binders in Beton Stucco and Pastellone, reinforced lime in Venetian Facade, and the unique chemical reaction of Tadelakt with olive soap that creates its watertight skin. Each is still finished by hand. The craft is the same; the brief is different.

Tadelakt

A smooth, satin lime plaster of Moroccan origin made waterproof through the application of olive soap, which reacts with the lime to form a dense, impermeable skin. The only traditional lime finish that is truly waterproof without a synthetic sealer. Applied differently depending on environment: wet applications for shower enclosures and full immersion surfaces; dry applications for bathroom walls, spa areas, and feature surfaces where the smooth satin character of Tadelakt is wanted without the full waterproofing treatment.

Pastellone

A Marmorino-class finish with a cement binder, providing the refined aesthetic of Venetian plaster with the structural durability and abrasion resistance required for floor applications. Applied to both walls and floors, it allows a continuous, seamless surface across an entire room or space. Available in two formulations depending on end use - with aggregate for floor and high-wear applications where additional resistance is required, and without aggregate for wall surfaces where a cleaner, more refined surface is desired.

Hydrocement

A cement-based mineral plaster engineered for maximum impermeability. Applied seamlessly across walls and floors, eliminating the grout lines and joint failure points of tile. The functional choice for wet rooms, shower enclosures, and pool surrounds where full waterproofing is required and a contemporary seamless aesthetic is desired. Can be pigmented across a full color range.

Venetian Facade

A stronger, reinforced version of Marmorino developed specifically for exterior applications. Enhanced mould and algae resistance, greater resistance to weathering and UV exposure, and the breathability of lime that allows moisture to move through the wall - the characteristic that makes it appropriate for Gulf Coast masonry where salt and humidity demand a wall that can breathe. The aesthetic quality of Marmorino, built to survive outside.

Beton Stucco

A cement-based mineral plaster that produces the aesthetic of raw exposed concrete - without the structural requirements or formwork. Applied to standard interior and exterior surfaces to achieve the industrial or urban character of bare concrete with greater control over finish quality and color range. Increasingly specified in coastal modern new construction where the raw material palette suits the architecture.

One process. Every finish.

Whether the brief is a mirror-polished Grassello feature wall or a Hydrocement shower enclosure, the discipline is identical: site assessment, correct substrate preparation, agreed sample, and a documented close-out. The finish changes. The process does not.

01

Discovery & Sample

Site visit, finish recommendation, and sample board production - real material in your space before any commitment.

02

Substrate Preparation

Substrate assessed and prepared to the standard the chosen finish requires. Environmental conditions checked before scheduling.

03

Application

Built in layers to the approved sample. Technique, pass count, and pressure specified before we begin — so the wall matches what you approved.

04

Sealing & Close-Out

Sealing specified per finish and location. Formula record, material sheets, and care guide issued at completion.

Sample Board

A sample board is not a color chip. It is a section of the real finish - the actual texture, sheen, and depth - applied to substrate and placed in your space, in your light. You approve a real result, not a photograph. We do not proceed without one.

The sample board stage is also where we confirm substrate compatibility, environmental suitability, and sealing requirements. For functional finishes in wet areas, this includes confirmation of waterproofing scope and method before any surface work begins.

What You Receive At Close-Out

Every color and formula is documented at close-out. Color-matching a repair or extending a finish to a new room in five years requires knowing exactly what is in the wall today.
